The Pharaohs of Egypt believed that the soul that doesn't belive in death will never die. به نقل از Deepak Chopra از فیلم How to know god.... So how does mythology fit into our lives? It is said that our unconscious motivations do in fact dwell in the mythical world; that deep inside us are gods and goddesses in embryo. In the business world for instance when someone orchestrates a grand and wondrous venture, it is akin to the heroic journey of buildling a pyramid to oneself, expanding our imagination, of what is possible. In the Hindu tradition, the spiritual quest begins by going inward ... there is a prayer ... which says: Lead us from darkness to light, From ignorance to truth, ... My mother read to me stories which you may call mythology, but for me they were truer than enything that existed in reality. In fact those stories inspired me to do everything that I do to this day. They lifted me from the mundane to the magical where anything was possible. ... Myth lifted me from the mundane to the magical and told me that both worlds were in myself. I could fly through the air, I could witness miracles and healing, I could experience coincidence, transformation, and magic. ... The evidance of Indian mythology was all around me. I could link monkeys chattering in the trees with the monkey-god Hanuman, the provider of courage, hope, knowledge, and intelect. Then there is Shiva who stands for destruction but at the same time the potential for renewal and resurrection. Shiva is not a god of death, but part of an eternal cycle, responsible for shedding the old to make way for the new. India took a step that Egypt never did, and made death creative. Shiva's son is Ganesh, wildly popular in India. Ganesh is the remover of obstacles. He has an elephant's nose which is very discriminating. He has huge ears to remind us to be active listeners. He has a huge belly to digest all the problems of the world. With one foot on the ground, and one in the air, he is in this world, but not of it. This cycle of life was part of the raw materials of my imagination. Ultimately myths became embodied in my spirit, psyche, and soul, allowing me to do things I never dreamed of before. ![]() ادامه دارد ... Labels: Faith, Movie, Mythology
